Prerequisites: Participants will be asked to complete a pre-course leadership assessment tool which is used throughout the workshops  

Audience: Managers, coaches and team leaders or those moving into these roles 

Objectives: Upon successful completion students will be able to:
  • clearly articulate a vision to support organizational change and help close commitment gaps
  • assess the willingness and ability of staff to perform duties
  • build working relationships with direct reports by effectively applying the appropriate coaching style

Content: Topics include:
  • theory of Leadership Styles
  • Leadership Style behavior
  • assessing proficiency and choosing a style
  • power bases
  • using Contingency Leadership
  • theory of Visionary Leadership
  • the importance of a vision
  • symbolism
  • making a vision happen
  • Transactional vs. Tranformational Leadership

Activities: Lecture, group discussion, video examples, individual exercises, simulation games, video, case studies, personal feedback
