Name: BCM Survivable Remote Gateway (SRG 50) Installation and Configuration

Prerequisites: 500401 BCM Bootcamp, 500100 CS1000 Installation and Maintenance or equivalent experience.  

Audience: PBX installation and maintenance technicians 

Objectives: Upon successful completion students will be able to:
  • Configure the BCM for use as an SRG in CS1000 environments
  • Connect the BCM to the network
  • Use Element Manager to configure the SRG
  • Use the Startup Profile to configure the system
  • Configure the CS1000 main office switch
  • Configure trunking to the main office
  • Configure dialing plan, call routing and call redirection
  • Enable emergency Services Access in failover
  • Configure basic PSTN access

Content: Topics include:
  • BCM, CS1000, SRG terminology
  • Network coordination and planning for survivable gateways
  • Use of the product documentation
  • Bandwidth, QoS and capacity limitations
  • Failover and failback conditions
  • IP set configuration for redirection

Activities: Lecture, individual and group exercises, hands-on practice

Assessment: A comprehesive assessment will be given at the end of the class.
